Robert Francis has tried more than 75 jury trials across various areas of law during his time as an attorney. Admitted to the US Supreme Court and US District Courts in Colorado and Michigan, he has appeared before the Colorado Supreme Court. Robert Francis presently focuses on real estate law. He also holds a broker’s license.
Mr. Francis served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, earning a ranking as first lieutenant before mustering out in the mid-1960s. He subsequently attended the University of Michigan (U of M) Law School and graduated with honors in 1968. This led to three years of practice in Ann Arbor and nationwide recognition for representing a case on behalf of John Norman Collins, Michigan’s most infamous serial killer. He also supervised students at U of M as a lawyer-practitioner, through a program that provided them with experience in real-world hearings.
Mr. Francis has a strong community commitment and was active with the first-responder organization Mountain Rescue Aspen for a decade. He helped coordinate the efforts of helicopters, other rescue equipment, and personnel that brought stranded hikers back to safety. Accomplished as a watercolorist, he also enjoys studying languages and is proficient in French, German, and Spanish.
